A Luta Continua Continua
This week, Slate magazine is running a four-part series of stories I wrote from my time in Mozambique. The first piece went up Tuesday and another should appear each day this week. I hope you will take a look and let me know your thoughts.
Some people have asked about the title of the blog. A luta continua means "the struggle continues" in Portuguese, and was the original slogan of the forces fighting for Mozambican independence. It's still the slogan of Frelimo, the party they became, and it's been adopted since by numerous causes under different political umbrellas. I certainly don't believe I've undertaken anything comparable to most of these struggles, but I think the battle against AIDS is equal to many of them.
Look for more updates soon.
